Join us as we take a closer look at an appellate case with significant impact for communities of color.  On September 16, the First Circuit will hear oral argument in Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard College.  At issue is whether Harvard's race-conscious admissions policy unlawfully discriminates against Asian American applicants in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. 

Learn more about the case and its potential impact from some of the lawyers involved.  Both our preview and post-argument events will be moderated by Ian Courts, who is an incoming Assistant District Attorney in the Philadelphia DA's Office and serves on the Board of Directors of The Appellate Project.

Debo Adegbile (Partner and Co-Chair of Anti-discrimination Practice, WilmerHale) and Ishan Bhabha (Partner, Jenner & Block's Education and Appellate and Supreme Court practices) will provide an overview of the case, including its background, the current legal landscape, and what to expect at oral argument.  Debo serves as counsel for Harvard, while Ishan represents as amici a group of universities.
