Volunteer with Us

Our volunteers makes this work possible.

There are a number of ways you can get involved with The Appellate Project. One way is through our Mentorship Program, which provides law students of color interested in appellate practice with 1:1 mentorship and appellate-focused resources. While some attorneys serve as mentors, others volunteer in our programming, such as our skill-building workshops, networking opportunities with the appellate bar, and clerkship events.

If you're interested in serving as a mentor or generally volunteering with our program, you can sign up here.*

Thank you again for your interest and all your support! We are excited to work together to help ensure our highest courts reflect our communities.

*Please note that our mentor/mentee pairing process depends on the number of students we have capacity to admit and their matching preferences (such as geographic location, practice area of interest, etc.). As such, not all volunteers may end up with a mentee, and pairing choices are not reflective of the quality of our amazing volunteers. We rely on volunteers beyond 1:1 mentorship, including for our programming throughout the year, and look forward to working with you!

We love our mentors!

We are fortunate to work with hundreds of mentors from diverse backgrounds, practice areas, and locations in our Mentorship Program. We regularly highlight these amazing volunteers through our #MotivationalMonday social media posts. Join us on LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram to read our full interviews with these incredible people!
