Strict Scrutiny "Live" at The Appellate Project!

The Appellate Project is excited to partner with Strict Scrutiny, the popular Supreme Court podcast hosted by Leah Litman, Melissa Murray, and Kate Shaw, for a special episode "live" from TAP!

Hosts Leah Litman, Melissa Murray, and Kate Shaw will be joined by Juvaria Khan (Executive Director, The Appellate Project), Carmen Iguina Gonzalez (Senior Staff Attorney, ACLU's Immigrants' Rights Project), and Matthew Fletcher (Professor of Law & Director of the Indigenous Law & Policy Center, Michigan State University College of Law). They'll preview the Supreme Court's April sitting and discuss the importance of representation and diversity in the appellate bar.

The group will unpack two upcoming cases with significant impact on communities of color: Sanchez v. Mayorkas, an immigration case centering on whether noncitizens with temporary protected status can obtain lawful-permanent-resident status, and Alaska Native Village, which deals with Alaskan Native eligibility for covid relief.

Date: April 16
