Previous: Post-argument discussion | Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard College

Join us as we take a closer look at an appellate case with significant impact for communities of color.  On September 16, the First Circuit will hear oral argument in Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard College.  At issue is whether Harvard's race-conscious admissions policy unlawfully discriminates against Asian American applicants in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Learn more about the case and its potential impact from some of the lawyers involved.  Both our preview and post-argument events will be moderated by Ian Courts, who is an incoming Assistant District Attorney in the Philadelphia DA's Office and serves on the Board of Directors of The Appellate Project.

Join us as Brittany Amadi (Partner, WilmerHale) and Jin Hee Lee (Senior Deputy of Litigation at NAACP-LDF, who will be arguing part of the case) unpack the First Circuit argument and explain what it's like to prepare for this type of appellate matter.  Brittany serves as counsel for Harvard, while Jin represents as amici a group of diverse Harvard students and alumni/ae.
